Special Concert for the Egyptian Red Crescent

All proceeds were donated to the victims of the Anatolian earthquake and to war sufferers. This was the last concert Bronisław Huberman performed with the Orchestra; he died in Nant-sur-Corsier, Switzerland, on 15.6.1947, at the age of 64.

King Farouk had been expected to attend but cancelled at the last moment, sending Prince Ismail Daoud in his place. The evening nonetheless proceeded as though the King himself were present. The British Ambassador and Lady Lampson represented the government.

During the interval, Prince Daoud invited Huberman and Neumark to the Royal Box to receive his congratulations.
