First concert of an historical season opening, marking 50 years of Zubin Mehta as a Musical Director of the IPO. (Time to Celebrate Zubin Mehta) 50 years as Music Director – 50 years of music making In the last concert of the celebrations (20.10) the IPO names Zubin Mehta Music Director Emeritus. The “End of the Jubilee Celebration” is full of performers and works which have had a lasting imprint on the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Zubin Mehta. The new Musical Director replacing Mehta is Lahav Shani.
